Shannon

Jayla Shannon is an associate in the Strategic Communications practice at Raben. Jayla utilizes her skills in media relations, creative writing, and communication strategy to inspire change and create a lasting impact for our clients.

Before joining Raben, Jayla worked as a public relations account executive. In that role, she was responsible for securing earned media placements, developing strategy, and writing pitches and press releases as needed for several business and entertainment accounts. She also worked with the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communication as communications and media support for their annual conference. She is an advocate for diversity in media and communications for both women and people of color.

Jayla holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations with a minor in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Born in Miami, Fla., and raised in Washington, D.C., she enjoys traveling to see family and friends. In her free time, Jayla can be found either at the gym, running her small candle business, or exploring new things to do locally and nationally.
