Thriving communities require a robust democracy, one in which people have the power through their vote and their voice to achieve fair representation and build a more prosperous future. Our team understands that access to democracy is not its own silo, but a necessity for achieving policy wins and systemic change on every issue. The fight to secure the right to vote — from the Civil War amendments to the suffrage movement to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 — has increased the vibrancy and fairness of American democracy, but the fight is far from over. Collaborating with plugged-in clients, partners, and coalitions nationwide, the Raben team works to secure access to the democratic process, and to combat voting restrictions at the local, state, and national level that fall hardest on the most vulnerable communities.
