Case Study
Latino Community Foundation
Raben worked with the Latino Community Foundation (LCF) to amplify the American Rescue Plan in California's Latino communities.
About the client
The LCF’s mission is to mobilize a coalition of actively involved philanthropic leaders, supporting organizations led by Latinos, and enhancing the political engagement of the Latino community in California. LCF strives to enhance the positive influence of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) in California's Latino communities, focusing on equitable fund allocation.
Our Work
From March to August 2022, Raben collaborated with LCF to support 35 Latino-led, community-based organizations in engaging local policymakers for ARP's optimal impact.
We created informative resources, organized peer learning events, and compiled case studies and recommendations to guide advocacy efforts.
The Outcome
Raben's efforts culminated in the "Latino Community Perspectives on the American Rescue Plan" report by the Brookings Institution, featuring insights from cities and counties across California. Grantees found the report valuable for their advocacy, with 83 percent acknowledging its valuable impact. Convenings facilitated the sharing of information and networking, empowering grantees to enhance their engagement with local governments.
Our collaboration positioned LCF to share its success nationally, fostering new partnerships and securing recognition, including a report by the Brookings Institution. The strengthened capacities of community partners and forged alliances have set the stage for ongoing positive impacts on Latino communities.
