Alexa Márquez is a manager in Raben's Strategic Communications practice area, where she uses her experience in developing and managing organic and paid social and digital media content to help clients across various industries further their advocacy efforts and create long-lasting change in communities across the country.
Before joining Raben, Alexa served as a communications aide for Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas). There, she co-led efforts to develop and implement a strategic communications and constituent outreach plan to advance priorities for Texas’s 16th Congressional District. Alexa spearheaded initiatives to communicate legislative achievements and resources to all El Paso constituents, including authoring and translating social media content, newsletters, and other materials for Spanish-speaking El Pasoans.
Alexa earned a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies and a minor in political science from Texas Tech University. There, Alexa worked in the Texas Tech University Dream Resource Center and executed an extensive collection of services that enabled undocumented students to overcome academic and personal barriers in their educational endeavors. She established a campus-wide Dreamer ALLY Training to educate students, faculty, and staff.
Alexa holds a master’s degree in Professional Studies from George Washington University in strategic public relations with a concentration in political management. Alexa is a proud El Pasoan, a tea latte aficionado, and enjoys long walks while listening to the latest pop culture or chisme podcasts.
